# Search

`GET /api/v1/search` finds companies, agencies, offices, investors, research labs,
programs, technologies and systems. Each hit has an id to pass to [`/entities/{id}`](/entities).

## Parameters

| `type`       | Comma list of `company`, `agency`, `office`, `investor`, `research_lab`, `other`, `program`, `technology`, `system` |
| `parent`     | An organization id or slug. Returns everything under it, for example `org:us-navy`                                  |
| `technology` | A technology id or slug. Returns organizations and systems linked to it                                             |
| `country`    | Two-letter country code                                                                                             |
| `state`      | State or region                                                                                                     |
| `limit`      | 1 to 100 per page                                                                                                   |
| `cursor`     | The `next_cursor` from the previous page                                                                            |

Send `q` or at least one filter.

Ids use a prefix: `org:anduril-industries`, `program:f-35-lightning-ii`,
`technology:uncrewed-systems`, `system:anduril-ghost`. Search matches names and aliases, not
identity. Confirm a match by name, website and identifiers.

## Cost and limits

A search page costs 1 credit. A page returns up to 100 results and a query returns at most
**1,000 results**. Past that, the response has `truncated: true` and a `bulk` object:

Narrow the filters, or email [hello@defdex.io](mailto:hello@defdex.io?subject=Bulk%20data%20request)
for a bulk dataset. A `409` means a new data build was published while you paged: restart
from the first page.
